James Ward – Managing Director

I am an entrepreneur, company director and a technical expert in AV custom install, with a passion for technology and gadgets.

At Electric String, I have developed a company that is now established as one of the leading AV companies in the UK and Europe with expertise in luxury marine, commercial and high residential audio visual projects.

After earning a master’s degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, I began my career as a R&D Engineer and worked my way up to senior management, helping to produce stunning systems for some of the world’s most prestigious superyachts and residencies.

Rob Sullivan – Commercial Director

‘Treat people well and you will get on well in life’ – one of the many essential life skills my parents instilled in me that has helped me become the well-brought up person I am today, as well as a successful businessman.

From reaching out to new clients to maintaining existing relationships, as commercial director at Electric String, I am in charge of ensuring the company lives up to its reputation as a leading AV company with an expertise in luxury marine, commercial and high residential audio visual projects.

I love meeting people and developing relationships through good, consistent practices. Knowledgeable, positive and enthusiastic, I listen to what our clients want and earn their trust by delivering on every promise we make.

Rob Sullivan

Jill Phillips – Director of Business Development

As Director of Business Development at Electric String, I am responsible for building and maintaining client relationships while identifying fantastic opportunities for this rapidly-evolving company. Based out of the company’s London office, but with close links to its Hull HQ, I will be using my strong network of contacts and vast experience in both the audio-visual and marine industries to help take Electric String to the next level of success.

I’ve joined an exciting, young company that is not frightened to take on new challenges, has an excellent attitude to customer service and a brilliant attention to detail. With exciting projects on the horizon, I’ll be in charge of taking on new challenges and new goals, while ensuring we have a clear vision for creating a strong, sustainable future.

Edd Stonham – Technical Manager

As Electric String’s Technical Manager, I am responsible for managing audiovisual projects from scope to delivery, working in partnership with the directors to ensure the company always delivers the highest standards of customer service.

Working in the consumer electronics industry for more than 25 years, I have vast experience and knowledge in producing detailed client proposals and technical plans. I am passionate about solving problems and will think outside the box to produce the perfect solution for every client by identifying what it is they really need.

I have enjoyed travelling across the world to support installations, events and training sessions and will readily share my experiences and expertise.

Hollie-Phillips

Hollie Phillips – Office Manager

I am responsible for ensuring the Electric String office runs as smoothly as possible; overseeing a range of administrative, clerical, financial and managerial tasks.

Leading and managing a busy and dynamic office team, I utilise strong operational management skills to make sure everything functions efficiently.

With a strong background in the super yacht industry, I bring to Electric String fantastic marine knowledge and skills, including effective project support, client account supervision and supply chain and sales administration.

Liz Stewart – Management Accountant

In my role at Electric String, I am responsible for preparing, developing and analysing key financial information to ensure the company runs smoothly during a time of rapid growth.

As a FCCA (Fellow Chartered and Certified Accountant) with more than 12 years of experience in accountancy, I am responsible for producing high-quality monthly management accounts and monitoring the cash flow for Electric String.

Working for a company that is expanding quickly, I often have something new and unexpected to consider each day and enjoy the challenge of adapting to changing circumstances.

Liz Stewart
Lizzie Witty

Lizzie Witty – Office Administrator

Organised, resourceful and brilliant at juggling multiple tasks;  as Electric String’s Office Administrator I work closely with all the team to ensure everything runs efficiently.

I work across incredibly varied tasks, looking after everything from purchasing to organising travel for team members. I have brilliant telephone skills and handle day-to-day dealings with suppliers and customers. I also assist with stock control and general company logistics.

Harry-Electric-string

Harry Moylan – Lead Engineer

As Lead Engineer at Electric String, I ensure that all our installations meet the company’s high standards of delivering a first-class service on every project.

I manage the on-site team ensuring that project deadlines are met and all engineers are fully briefed. Working closely with the Project Manager and the technical team, I work on site surveys prior to install, communicate on-site progress and ensure we comply with all Health & Safety rules and regulations.

Since working at Electric String, I have worked my way up from Junior Installer to my current role as Lead Engineer, working with a variety of clients across the commercial, residential and marine industries, with my main focus on commercial AV.

My role is very varied on a day to day basis, but I still get the most enjoyment from knowing how technics work, inspecting electronic detail to ensure the sound and picture quality is the best it can be, solving system issues and making sure there is a smile on our clients’ faces when a job is complete.

Emily-Halsey

Emily Halsey – Office Apprentice

My role at Electric String is as an Office Apprentice, which consists of office and administration duties, while learning in accordance to the apprentice training framework.

My main responsibilities consist of dealing with both suppliers and customers, assisting with purchasing, booking and organising business travel, using the diary system, answering the phone, assisting with stock control and logistics, data input and extraction, general office duties and looking after visitors.

Richard Georgiou – Technical Support Engineer

In my role at Electric String my main responsibility is to provide technical documentation to assist both internal departments and clients. Alongside this I am responsible for providing accurate and timely technical support to internal and external customers via telephone, email or via our support system.

My role is extremely varied, which makes it highly interesting, as no project is the same, this has given me the ability to multi-task and act upon any changes quickly and effectively.

Becca Gill – Accounts Assistant

In my role at Electric String my main responsibilities include; sales invoicing, service orders, liaising with suppliers, supporting with stock management and managing project reporting for accounts. My role is extremely varied on a day to day basis making it really interesting and diverse. I am often involved with working alongside various other departments including supporting with PA duties for senior team members. Electric String is an exciting growing business and one that will allow me to develop my skills and help me excel in my career.

Russell Phillips – Techincal Support Supervisor

As Electric String’s Technical Support Supervisor, I am responsible for ensuring accurate and innovative technical support is deployed in an efficient and timely manner.  Myself and my team provide remote, or on-site technical assistance for operational staff, we manage the technical support ticket handling system, deliver resolutions for any technical issues to clients and staff and, when required, assist in technical design. After achieving an Electrical Engineering HNC I completed 17 years working for a leading Audio Manufacturer working up to Lead Technical Support Engineer, this provided me with invaluable hands-on experience and industry expertise. I now offer Electric String my in-depth understanding of the industry and knowledge in technical solutions. I am passionate about solving problems and taking on new challenges, the opportunity to work with Electric String has given me a fantastic chance to further develop my career and skills, allowing me to contribute to this successful, growing company.

 

Jack Mudd – Techincal Designer

As Electric String’s Technical Designer, I am responsible for the creation of the AV project technical drawings. The drawings are vital stage within the project as it provides the key information for the engineer to follow to complete the install. Alongside the drawings, I also assist the team with the project specifications.  Having worked in the industry since 2005 I have years of experience using Auto Cad and I also have an ONC in Operations and Maintenance Engineering. This experience has enabled me to create drawings for a variety of complex Commercial, Residential and Marine projects.

Part of my role is to provide first line technical support to internal and external customers via telephone, email or via our online support system. Coming from a AV/IT background gives me the ability to help with all kinds of issues and deal with them in an effective manner. My role is varied and every day is different and this makes the job interesting.
